Upon arrival in Jodhpur, a representative will meet you for your private road transfer to Manvar Desert Camp (57 Miles / Approximately 2 Hours)

Arrive in the desert where you will find your charming campsite, fully crewed and with all the facilities of a fixed camp. Enjoy excursions into the surrounding area both by jeep and camelback, riding over sand dunes, through villages & communities of potters, weavers, herders, and the occasional nomads, all the while keeping look out for an array of desert wild life.
After breakfast, start your day’s camel safari as you move through the villages of Lwaran and Khiyansarai where you have an opportunity to visit the homes of the Rajputs (descendants of the warrior class), the Bishnois (religious group focused on conserving wildlife), and village craftsmen.
Throughout the safari, stop at various tribal dwellings and view various wildlife species like the blue bull (one of Asia’s largest antelopes), gazelle, desert fox, and birdlife like partridge, sand grouse, and peacocks.
Enjoy lunch in a local “Dhani” (village settlement) or under the shade of a Neem tree. Afterwards, mount the camels once again and head back to camp just in time for sun downer cocktails on the dune.
After breakfast, leave Manvar in open jeeps and make your way towards Jodhpur (approximately 2 hours).

Start the day with a visit to Jodhpur’s most predominant feature, the Mehrangarh Fort. Located atop a steep hill with sheer outer walls and cannon festooned ramparts, this structure dates back as far as 1459 AD. Now resplendent after an intensive restoration project, its well planned interiors form an amalgam of royal, military, and civil functions and visitors have an opportunity to view an extensive collection of royal memorabilia.
From there, visit the old quarter bazaar, a huge source of local handicrafts including bangles, fabrics, footwear, and silver jewelry. Of particular interest are Jodhpur’s “antique warehouses,” cavernous buildings filled floor to ceiling with various bric-abrac.
Spend your afternoon at leisure.

Enjoy an early breakfast in camp before departing in an open jeep with your naturalist en route to the Dhikala Forest Rest House complex.
Enter through the Dhangari gate and move past the Gharial Pool, Champion Pool, and High Bank, all excellent observation points on the Ramganga River. Arrive at the Dhikala complex in time for lunch.
After lunch, take in a game drive to the Dhikala “chaur” (grasslands), to observe the varied bird and mammal species found in the area.
Return to Dhikala by sundown for tea and then take some time to freshen up before dinner.

Enjoy two full days of game viewing activities. Generally, viewing is split between elephant back (subject to availability), and game drives. Aside from stops at Dhikala for breakfast and lunch, spend the entire day in different areas of the Park viewing its varied flora and fauna. Return to Dhikala around sundown for tea and an early diner.
Start the day early with a game drive, you determine the destination based on your previous 2 days experience. After lunch, head to Camp Forktail Creek, arriving in the evening and taking some time to freshen up before meeting your hosts around the campfire for drinks, snacks and dinner.
